Can Minnesota be Next?

Pennsylvania has wine vending machines!

All you have to do is swipe your driver's license, blow into a breathalyzer, look into a camera and - BOOM - you're ready to buy some wine.  I want one.

Time-Waster of the Day

Most of us know what it's like to live in an apartment or duplex with annoying neighbors, but this guy really drew the short straw.  Dear Girls Above Me is one annoyed neighbor's documentation of the stupid things that the two girls who moved in above him have to say about life, love, and everything in between.

The Funniest Thing I have Seen a Dog do....

I currently stumbled upon this video and could not stop laughing. This is exactly what would go through a dog's mind in this situation.

Watch and Enjoy....

And the Winner Is...

SOUL DADDY!

On Sunday night, Jamawn Woods was announced the winner of America's Next Great Restaurant.  Soul Daddy was open for business at the Mall of America the next morning and you better believe I was there to check it out.

First of all, since it was the opening day I expected a long line and wait, which couldn't be further from the truth.  Although I didn't get there until 2:30 pm, there was no line and only a few people eating in the restaurant.  After struggling my way through the service line (there were so many things that I wanted to try), I was ready to chow down - and believe me, I was pumped.

To my dismay, the food was nothing special.  I tried the pulled pork sandwich with cheesy grits and black-eyed pea salad and it was good, but nothing spectacular.  I couldn't even finish half of the meal, it was just too much.  My guess is that my expectations were just too high.

I'll be back someday to try something else from the menu, but I sure wish there was some fried chicken.

In a Perfect World..

How It Should Have Ended is a group of animated clips that play out an alternate ending for some of America's favorite movies and TV shows.  So far my favorites have been the ideas for Scream, Lost, and Twilight but they're all pretty hysterical.

Super Fill-Up

I can't even explain this game without sounding like a total nut job.  All I know is I've spent the better half of this evening playing it.  Just give it a try.

Current Jam

Lately, I have been obsessing over a new artist. Her name is Lykke Li and her sound is amazing. She hails from the great land of Sweden and her sound is a mix between pop and electronic with a mix of indie rock. Her newest album, Wounded Rhymes, has been playing on repeat in my itunes for some time now.

Take a listen to one of her songs here...

SOOKIE!!

The ELEVENTH book in the Sookie Stackhouse series is out today!

He's Been Everywhere, Man

This guy's life is totally rad.  He basically goes all over the world and films himself doing some ridiculous dance so his family and friends can keep track of where he is, or has been.  Judging from the videos, he's been just about everywhere and I'm totally jealous.  By visiting Where the Hell is Matt? you can find his videos and journal entries.  This definitely gives me the travel bug!

Current Obsession

I've been listening to The Civil Wars for a while now, but I'm excited that they're finally making their way into the hearts of many more people.  I saw the video for Barton Hollow featured on VH1 today and it made me smile.  This band has band has been heard on Grey's Anatomy and is strongly supported by Taylor Swift.  Check out Barton Hollow below.

And here's another one of my favorites, a cover of The Jackson 5's I Want You Back.

Enjoy, and make sure to give their whole track list a listen here.

Best. Thing. Ever.

I'm notorious for losing my phone.  And by that I mean misplacing, it's hardly ever truly lost.  Today I discovered my savior.  More often than not, I manage to lose my phone when nobody is around to call it for me.  Where's My Cellphone? solved that problem.

Just type in your number, press send, and your phone will be ringing for you to find it immediately.  Awesome.

Osama is Dead.

Everyone knows that Osama Bin Laden is dead.  I understand what a great day this is for the United States but part of me still wishes they would have captured him alive.  This would've offered concrete proof that he's done being the leader of Al Qaeda and prevented the world-wide celebration of someone's death.  The announcement also spurred many random questions for me:

1.  What kind of reaction will the terrorist group have?  If they had killed one of  our leaders and started celebrating in the streets of Pakistan, I know we would've wanted some kind of revenge.

2.  If he was living in such a luxurious mansion, out in the open, why did it  take us 10 years to find him?

3.  I wonder how Obama felt, knowing that Osama was dead for over a week but not being able to tell everyone.

4.  Will there be pictures of his death?  I really don't want to see them, but we all know we need some kind of closure in order to believe all of this.
*and why has his body already been "buried at sea"?

5.  Why do so many people on today's morning talk shows keep slipping up and saying Obama instead of Osama?  "The death of Obama..." doesn't sound very good.

6.  Were the Navy Seals supposed to bring him in alive and one of them just lost it, deciding to shoot him in the head ?  Maybe he was threatening them?  I'd love to hear what happened during the raid.

Congrats are in order to the U.S. military as well as the President for a job well done.  I'm also happy for the closure that the evil guy's death brought for those who lost someone on September 11, 2001.

Now it's time to wait and see what this event means for the future of the United States.  If you missed President Obama's initial announcement and speech, you should check it out here.

More Royal Wedding.

Here's a photo of the royals getting ready for the wedding, and I love it more than any official photo I've seen so far.  Perez Hilton admits that he's not sure if the photo is real, but if it is, it's a gem!

I'm moving to England.

I must admit that was sucked into the Royal Wedding hoopla on Friday morning.  Even though I wasn't quite ready to wake up in the middle of the night to watch, I did TiVo more than 6 hours of coverage.  I love the excitement that surrounded the whole event.  Here are a few of my favorite memories from the day.

Don't Mess With the Originals

Scream 4 was much better than I ever dreamed it could be.  Although it lacked some of the random laughs that were a major part of the first three movies, the storyline was surprisingly interesting.  "The Originals" - Neve Campbell, David Arquette, and Courteney Cox are joined by a star-studded supporting cast including Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, and many more.  If you're a fan of the first three Scream films, this is a must see.
